Before launching Franc Lloyd, Osman Aslam made his name as one of the most sought-after private clothiers in Chicago’s urban circuit. His career as a clothing designer began in 2010 after convincing a close friend to let him design his upcoming wedding suit. Today, Franc Lloyd has become a global brand, with clients around the world. Our clothes are regularly seen on television, news stands, red carpets and billboards.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Illinois – Chicago, Osman took a position at a leading architectural firm, internationally recognized for its high-profile projects. Osman worked on the team that brought us The Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Nichols Bridgeway, Rock N Roll McDonald’s – Chicago and many other beautifully-designed structures. Here he grew to appreciate the aesthetics of design and the creative process. After years of designing with concrete and steel, he left the industry to pursue his true passion of custom clothing design.
Like any beautifully designed building, Osman believes a man ought to stand tall with confidence, elegance and balance. “I design clothes so that people viewing the garment will have an irresistible urge to know more about the individual.” He frequently consults companies and working professionals on the importance of strategic attire. Osman scours the world to find fabrics, sartorial concepts in building the Franc Lloyd brand. He and his wife, along with their two daughters, split their time between Chicago and Bangkok.
